Our Story
Our story of working together began in middle school in southern California. We grew up in the same town, went to the same school, and shared common interests around food, the outdoors, and active lifestyles. Our shared interests created the foundation for a lifelong friendship and allowed us to stay connected through high school, college, and the years to follow.
The fields of nutrition and behavior change and their intersection with health is full of well-known advice and recommendations that have been out there for decades. But, if we look at the field of nutrition in particular, it actually is quite a young science and we are learning more and adjusting previously held beliefs all the time. Just think of the evolution of thinking on eggs and heart health over the past few decades!
With our multidisciplinary team, we are fascinated and determined to not only discover what has been acting as barriers for individuals to implement the recommendations but how to support a sustainable change. We understand that it takes a team to help our clients look at all aspects of their life – the interconnectedness of everything that we do on a daily basis from sleep to stress to financial health to what’s in the fridge, and how it impacts health. This integrative approach allows our clients, and us, to focus on meeting them where they are currently, discover why they are striving for their stated goals, and collaboratively identify any barriers to progress. Then, drawing on our expertise, we can begin the fun of empowering our clients to create their own goals and feel confident that they have the tools and skills necessary to make sustainable change.
At Well Balance, we believe that a balanced approach to wellness starts with the individual and then expands out, generating a positive effect not just on the person, but their friends, family, workplace, and community. We want to create change in our communities by helping people change their world, one step at a time.
Key elements of our approach to working with our clients include:
Meeting people where they are so we can create customized support for them every step of the way
Establishing a health and wellness baseline and consult with you around specific areas of your general health
Empowering people to create their own goals and tailored action steps to achieve success
Creating a system for our clients so they can feel supported by their friends, family, and community
